We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of the Citizens League team, Maddie Harvala!
Maddie joined us in September 2023 as our new Office Operations and Donor Database Coordinator. In this role, she will be an integral part of our collaborative and supportive six-member team, helping us sustain and grow the relationships with our donors, supporters, and project partners. Maddie’s focus areas will include leading donor database management and development operations; program and leadership support; and office management. As the first point of contact for many reaching out to us, she fills a key role for the success of the Citizens League!
Maddie comes to us from Westwood Professional Services, an engineering firm, where she was a Senior Project Assistant, working collaboratively with engineering, legal, and project management teams to achieve successful outcomes, serving as a bridge between many different stakeholders. Her attention to detail, administrative expertise, and problem solving skills led to her success, and the success of those around her.
Maddie graduated from Concordia College in May 2020, majoring in political science and global studies, and minoring in communication studies. During her college career, Maddie temporarily lived and worked in San Jose, Costa Rica, where she deepened her desire to work in a diverse and multicultural environment. She has held internships at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Fargo, North Dakota, and interned for U.S. Senator Tina Smith in Washington D.C.
“One of Citizens League’s approaches stands out to me,” said Maddie. “To bring diverse perspectives and people together to hear all voices and prioritize policy that increases quality of life for those most affected by systemic injustice.”
The Citizens League staff looks forward to learning and growing along with Maddie as she utilizes her experience and passion to carry out our work!
