Minnesota Legislators joined us on January 22, 2026 for another Interconnected event, this time talking about Citizens League’s Minnesota Legislative Exchange (MLE) initiative.
Legislators spoke about their MLE trip experiences and the importance of building bipartisanship relationships across the state.
Our panel for the discussion included:
- Rep. Dave Baker (R – District: 16B)
- Rep. Ned Carroll (DFL – District: 42A)
- Rep. Mary Frances Clardy (DFL – District: 53A)
- Rep. Natalie Zeleznikar (R – District: 3B)
The discussion was moderated by Brian McClung, CEO, McClung PR.
The MLE is a first-in-the-nation effort to build trust and bipartisan relationships in state legislatures. As Minnesota’s leading nonpartisan nonprofit focused on civic engagement and public policy solutions, Citizens League is proud to lead this important effort, intentionally forging new relationships to bridge divides and govern our state effectively.
Since 2020, the Center for Rural Policy & Development has partnered with the Citizens League to present Interconnected, an event series helping bridge the divide between urban and rural communities in Minnesota.
