Make a Direct Gift
from an IRA
When you initiate a direct transfer from your IRA, please let us know so we can look out for your gift and acknowledge it in a timely manner. Contact: Yvonne Lerew, Development Director at [email protected].
Making a direct gift to Citizens League from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can be a smart way to give that may reduce your taxes while fulfilling your required minimum distribution from your IRA.
Beginning at age 73, people who have IRAs are required to take Required Minimum Distributions each year—even if they don’t need or want the funds. This required minimum distribution can increase the IRA holder’s total taxable income.
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
