Nominate a Civic Changemaker

Citizens League is excited to announce the return of the Civic Changemaker Award to be presented at this year’s Civic Celebration on April 10, 2025!

The Civic Changemaker Award recognizes an emerging leader who is making a difference in their communities and enhancing Minnesota’s civic culture in positive ways.

We are seeking nominations of young professionals who demonstrate unique or creative ways to engage in their community and embody the Citizens League values and approach:

• Inspiring Minnesotans of diverse backgrounds, ideologies and parties to be active in public policymaking
• Convening conversations that build trust and understanding across differences
• Implementing innovative and effective policy solutions that improve lives in our state

Nominees can be of any age and located anywhere in Minnesota. We encourage nominations of Minnesotans who have not been widely recognized for their work or contributions. The Civic Changemaker Award aims to honor and celebrate the “unsung heroes” who are helping make our state a great place to live, work and thrive.

In addition to being presented at this year’s Civic Celebration, the Civic Changemaker Award recipient will receive financial support to help continue making a positive impact.

As the Director of Engagement and Inclusion with the Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association, Sina champions local food producers and entrepreneurs, with a focus on historically underserved communities. Sina War

Sina War, a dedicated advocate for local food systems in Minnesota, is at the forefront of promoting farmers’ markets within the state, tribal nations, and nationally. As the Director of Engagement & Inclusion for the Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association. Sina’s work employs public policy, education, and marketing strategies to champion local food producers and entrepreneurs, with a focus on historically underserved communities. Sina also holds a position on the board of Directors for Roots for the Home Team. She is the Founder of Twin Tiger Brand Farm & Gardens and envisions a space where growing vegetables & creating culturally relevant food products becomes a celebration of heritage which includes her locally produced hot sauce, Sinaracha. Joining the Land Stewardship Project’s Emerging Farmers Policy Working Group, Sina’s commitment this year is to expand the number of food farmers on the land and build a multiracial and economically just food system, transforming both urban and rural communities.
