During the course of each Capitol Pathways program year, the entire cohort gathers each month for additional training, networking, and discussion of their internship experiences thus far.
Last month, the Capitol Pathways cohort had their first meeting, where they learned about networking with a purpose. Students developed elevator pitches and practiced in pairs, then they presented to a large group. In addition, they worked on strategies for 1:1 informational interviews, as well as large-group networking.
Students had the chance to hear from Minnesota State Representative Athena Hollins, who shared some of her experiences and advice with the incoming cohort.
The day wrapped up with a social hour, giving students, hosts, and Citizens League staff another chance to meet and learn more about each other. Check out photos of the meeting and social below!
