Exclusive event for Citizens League members!

The last year has been incredibly difficult and tense for Minnesota – we’ve found our state repeatedly in national and international headlines following political violence, a school shooting, fraud investigations, and the ongoing impacts and aftermath of the federal government’s Operation Metro Surge.

Earlier this month, the Minnesota Legislature convened for the 2026 Legislative Session… and with an evenly split 67-67 State House and one-seat majority for Democrats in the State Senate, will it be possible to get anything done? And how will the seemingly endless news cycle – and a significant number of legislators retiring from public service – impact the 2026 elections?

Join us on Thursday, March 12 from noon – 1pm to hear from a panel of experts as we break down current events and talk about what to expect over the next several months in Minnesota politics:

Panelists:

  • Mary Lahammer, Political Reporter and Anchor, Twin Cities PBS; Host, SpinSisters podcast
  • Blois Olson, CEO and Publisher, Fluence Media + Fluence Advisory
  • Kathryn Pearson, Professor of Political Science, University of Minnesota

Moderated by Tane Danger, Co-Founder, Danger Boat Productions
