The 2018 Legislative Session is underway, and what is usually a quick and quiet second year of the biennium, many significant policy issues have emerged to the forefront. State conformity to federal tax changes, questions surrounding Minnesota’s Constitution, sexual harassment, MNLARS, and school safety are all issues swirling around the Capitol.
As Briana Bierschbach of MinnPost reports, at the start of session, legislators “were greeted with a roar of protesters, an ongoing debate over sexual harassment in state politics and a massively complicated tax bill that could take the entire session — or maybe longer — to work out.”
Join us Tuesday, March 20th, for the next in our Mind Opener series, for an in-depth Q&A with Ms. Bierschbach about the first month of this year’s session.
