GREATER MSP and Citizens League are joining forces this summer to strengthen the civic fabric of the MSP region. This alumni gathering brings together leaders and former participants from the MYALP/YALP programs and Capitol Pathways.

Combined these programs have nearly 700 alumni – together, we have the power to build lasting connections and drive meaningful impact across Minnesota.

Goals of this event include:

  • Reconnect & Network: Catch up with old friends and build new relationships across leadership networks.

  • Gain Inspiration: Hear from fellow alumni about their unique leadership journeys, civic engagement, and ongoing regional impact.

  • Shape the Future: Connect with peers who share your commitment to public leadership and cross-sector collaboration.

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of conversation, connection, and community!

About the Young American Leaders Program: Since 2015, the Itasca Project has sent cohorts of ten rising leaders to Harvard Business School (HBS) for the Young American Leaders Program. In 2019, the Itasca Project partnered with the University of Minnesota’s Center for Integrative Leadership to create the Minnesota Young American Leaders Program, which is inspired by the national Young American Leaders Program. The two Programs share themes, as well as selected faculty and content. There is no cost to attend either Program. Both focus on the US and regional competitiveness, shared prosperity, and cross-sector collaborations; both Programs seek to create relationships among civically focused rising leaders in our region and state. About Capitol Pathways: The Citizens League’s Capitol Pathways program opens access to policymaking and public service to the next generation of leaders who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). It is a paid spring internship program for BIPOC students who are currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college or university in Minnesota. With the long-term goal of making Minnesota state government and policymaking more representative of our diverse communities, our program provides students legislative and career readiness training alongside an immersive hands-on internship experience during the legislative session.
