Capitol Pathways Celebration

Friday, June 5, 2026

Students and supporters gathered to celebrate another successful program year!

Capitol Pathways is the only paid internship program in Minnesota that opens a policy career pathway for BIPOC college students.

In June 2026, we gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and host organizations working together to broaden access to policymaking for the next generation of BIPOC civic leaders. We’re proud to welcome this year’s cohort to our Capitol Pathways alumni network, which now includes more than 370 alumni of the program over the past 11 years.

Our thanks to student speakers Fatima Aden, Staël Kpetsu, and Mara Dukuly; as well as Capitol Pathways Co-Founder Juventino Meza for moderating our discussion with Robbinsdale City Councilmember Alejandro Caceres Aranda (Capitol Pathways Alum ‘22) and Saint Paul City Councilmember Cheniqua Johnson (Capitol Pathways Alum ’16).

Congrats to all our students!
