This imbalance brought representatives of several organizations to meet with Star Tribune editors, late in August. People from the Science Museum of Minnesota, Citizens League, Center for School Change, Bakken Museum, Minnesota Association of School Administrators and the Alley Institute agreed: More coverage of outstanding students would provide an important message that hard work in academics matters, and that young people who excel in these areas deserve attention and honor just like outstanding athletes.
