Participate in the Citizen League's Summer Policy Series, morning events offering opportunities to learn about our work in energy, taxes, health and other areas that make a difference for Minnesotans.
Through these events, we'll show you how the Citizens League reframes issues and connects people with different backgrounds, ideologies and views. You'll discover how to look at policy differently and develop new skills to be an engaged citizen.
Our first session of the series will be an opportunity to learn about Minnesota's electrical energy system and help the Citizens League's efforts to build the system our state needs in the future.
The Citizens League is leading work to identify what Minnesota needs from our electrical system in the long-term, and what policy changes must be in place to achieve this. Last year, our work outlined key considerations to build a system that is efficient, affordable, sustainable, and meets the state's needs. The next step is to identify key barriers that are preventing the state from achieving these goals, and advance reforms to get past these challenges.
This session will go through what Minnesota's ideal electrical system would achieve, and will ask participants to envision what it could look like to have a system that worked much differently. The results from the session will help the Citizens League define the direction of our policy work in this area.
