Recent debate in the Minnesota legislature has brought to the forefront the issue of whether the state's current method of choosing judges in contested races puts at risk their ability to remain impartial and independent. At the center of the debate is the question of whether the current electoral process should be replaced with appointments, retention elections, and a committee-based process that would deliver evaluations to the voting public.

There are logical arguments on both sides of this issue. And, regardless of the outcome of this year's legislation, the issue is not likely to go away.

Join us for a panel discussion of the issue of judicial selection in Minnesota.

Co-sponsored by: Rochester Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters, Olmsted County Bar Association
