Join the Humphrey Institute Center for Science, Technology and Public Policy and the Science Museum of Minnesota for a two-part event that explores water scarcity and quality in Minnesota.
On the evening of April 20th, you will join other concerned community members in viewing the Water exhibition that is currently running at the Science Museum. After the tour, the Science Museum will host "Talking Circles," an opportunity to reflect on the exhibition and share concerns about water quality and scarcity in Minnesota and in America.
At the Humphrey Institute the following morning, the group will consider public policy implications and potential actions about water issues. In working groups, you will hear brief presentations from a designer, a policy maker, and a scientist with expertise in water science or projects. Feeding off that and the previous night's reflections, you will help develop potential action steps that could be taken by the design, policy and scientific communities.
This event is being held in partnership with the following University of Minnesota organizations: Water Resources Center, the Center for Freshwater Research & Policy, and the Department of Landscape Architecture. It is co-sponsored by the Freshwater Society and the Citizens League.
