Sandra Day O'Connor: Protecting Impartial Courts in a Political Culture
Friday, May 2, 11:45 a.m.Humphrey Institute Atrium
America's system of justice rests on fair and impartial application of the law. However, our national judiciary is now threatened. Judicial candidates and special interest groups are engaging in massive fundraising campaigns to influence state judicial elections around the country, and perhaps soon in Minnesota.
These developments threaten the cornerstone of our judicial process -- faith that our judges are independent arbiters of the law. Please come hear Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's remarks on this very important subject.
Unfortunately, the ticketed luncheon is full. Justice O'Connor's presentation can also be viewed on a screen in the Cowles Auditorium at the Humphrey School. Seating is first-come, first-served. Food and drink are not permitted in Cowles Auditorium.
