In Minnesota, we are making major strides in improving our mental health system as a result of the work of the Minnesota Mental Health Action Group (MMHAG), the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the Minnesota Legislature and many other individuals and organizations. Nearly four years of work have culminated in the enactment in 2006 and 2007 of a comprehensive mental health initiative that includes funding increases, expanded benefits, payment and service delivery reforms, and investments in important mental health service infrastructure.

This conference will include the latest information on the major changes that are occurring in mental health services and funding and how they affect mental health providers and professionals, health plans, counties, consumers and family members.

Guest speakers and panelists will present on innovative mental health projects, national trends, implications of federal cutbacks in case management services, and how broader health care reform proposals coming from the 2008 Minnesota Legislature could affect mental health services.
