Twenty-two months ago, 2,600 men and women left their families, jobs and communities to serve in the Minnesota National Guard's longest continuous deployment in the Iraq war. Many returned to Minnesota in August; others were deployed in their stead.

Returning veterans need meaningful outlets for their new skills and experience, and Minnesota needs the insights and expertise our veterans can offer - and we can do better making the connection.

The Warrior to Citizen Campaign is a broad and growing coalition of citizens and civic organizations working together to address the opportunities and challenges surrounding the reintegration of Minnesota's veterans into community life.

Join former Governor Al Quie, Col. Eric Ahlness of the Minnesota National Guard, and civic volunteer Jessie Ostlund for an interactive discussion on the Warrior to Citizen Campaign and how individuals and communities can become involved.

Learn more about the campaign at the Warrior to Citizen website.

This event is the second in the Civic Minds series, co-sponsored by the Citizens League and the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
