Pre-registration for this event has now closed, but walk-ins will be welcome. See you there!
Wednesday, August 15:00 p.m. reception, 6:30 program
Hilton Minneapolis, 1001 Marquette Avenue
What if education in Minnesota looked completely different? What if students, instead of going off to schools on a set schedule, completed their requirements in an online virtual school? How would that change schooling - and how would it change Minnesota?
Join the Citizens League and Concordia University for a provocative discussion exploring the implications of a future where education might look very different than it does today. We'll talk about what would happen if all students engaged in virtual learning (How would families arrange for child care if their kids weren't at school all day? What would happen when a ten-year-old from Mankato worked on a school project with a thirteen-year-old from Osaka?) and what lessons we can learn for the educational system we have today.
Welcome and introduction by Janine Kessler, Concordia University, and Sean Kershaw, executive director of the Citizens League. The event will be moderated by Victoria Ford, Citizens League policy associate.
This event is free and open to the public.
