Minnesota must reform its transportation financing system to better manage its roads and improve transportation in the state. Road pricing is not just about raising revenue but about creating a more transparent pricing system that deals directly with some of the direct and indirect costs of roads and congestion.
Join us for a unique opportunity to discuss the national, state, and local outlook on road pricing. What road pricing strategies have been tried nationally and internationally? What are the most likely initiatives in the near future? What are the barriers? How does road pricing currently work in Minnesota, and what should be the next steps in public policy?
Presenting national perspectives on road pricing:
- Tyler Duvall, Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning, U.S. Department of Transportation
- Ed Regan from Wilbur Smith Associates
Reaction panels from state and local governments:
- Rep. Michael Beard
- Carol Flynn, Transit for Livable Communities
- Mayor Jim Hovland, Edina
- Commissioner Linda Koblick, Hennepin County
