We've all heard that we should "reduce, reuse, recycle" -- but what effects do the choices we make as individuals and the policies we make as a state have on Minnesota's environment? And how can we balance personal choices with public policies for the public good with regards to our natural resources?
Larry Baker and Kristin Nelson from the University of Minnesota have developed a computer simulation that can estimate how our everyday choices affect Minnesota's environment. Does composting "cancel out" your long commute? Is your dog hard on the environment? And is driving to Madison more or less harmful than flying to Chicago? We'll explore answers to these questions -- AND we'll expose just how environmentally friendly are 89.3 The Current DJ Steve Seel, Citizens League Executive Director Sean Kershaw and some audience volunteers.
John Curry and the Minnesota Campaign for Conservation have gathered the key facts and trends on environmental change in Minnesota -- and are now challenging Minnesotans to develop a 50-year vision for what we want our state to look like.
