The United States is a spectacularly rich society by any standard. Yet, for nearly three decades, we have been drifting toward a Third World-like distribution of our riches. We are a more unequal country than at any time since the 1920s, and more unequal than any other developed nation today.
The growing economic divide and its not always obvious consequences are the subject of this forum and a new book, Inequality Matters: The Growing Economic Divide in America and Its Poisonous Consequences from Demos, a New York City-based national, nonpartisan, public policy and advocacy organization.
Our guests will lead us in a dialogue about how to push the issue onto the front burner and lay the groundwork for policies with the potential to reduce the level of inequality and carve out a more promising landscape for the reforms that matter to all of us.
Parking: Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to the Children's Home Society & Family Services.
Fee: Free, but please RSVP to Stephanie Haddad at stephanie [at] mncn.org or 651-642-1904, ext. 227.
