The Citizens League is pleased to announce that we have established an affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota.
For the Citizens League, establishing affiliate committees throughout Minnesota advances our mission of building civic imagination and capacity and our purpose of helping to rebuild a civic infrastructure in Minnesota. These affiliates will help the Citizens League:- To improve the quality of our policy work by increasing our access to people who are impacted by policy problems, and helping us articulate the need for a "civic policy agenda;"
- To help to build a more diverse base of members, and to increase opportunities for civic leadership development;
- To foster partnerships that advance our organizing and policy goals, and help the Citizens League become more sustainable as an organization.
These affiliates help to extend the scope of our long-term goals and workplan towards policy development issues like poverty, long-term care financing reform, and water pollution.
In Rochester, the new affiliate extends earlier work begun by the Coffee and Conversations and Rochester Citizens Coalition groups that have been active for almost five years.
What does this mean for Rochester?

- Citizens League staff will work with individuals and organizations in the Rochester community as part of our policy work.
