Students Wanted: Students Speak Out Web Design Challenge
The Students Speak Out Design Challenge, a 3-hour event to be held the third week of August in St. Paul, is looking to learn from young people. We're looking for students between the ages of 13-18 who are interested in advising the Citizens League and who have an opinion on what might motivate young people to get involved with public policy issues online. Students will work in a team to provide feedback on existing websites and design the basics of a civic engagement website focused on young people.
Five to seven students will be selected to participate. We'll provide pizza, and participants will receive a $50 gift card to Best Buy. Learn more, and contact Lindsey Alexander at 651-329-1328 or lindsey[at]lindseyalexanderconsulting.com if you are interested.
Aligning Self and Public Interest for Clean Water
Minnesota needs to set up environments in which individuals, businesses, farms, and communities work together with government towards the goal of clean water, because they meet their own interests in the process of doing so. Read more from our policy blog.
Advancing Recommendations to Support Pathways to Prosperity
As Phase IV of the Pathways to Prosperity Project begins, we will design the details to put into place the recommendations from Phase III. Click here to find out more about the project. If you have ideas or examples that will help develop these recommendations, please contact Bob DeBoer at bdeboer[at]citizensleague.org.
Support the Citizens League with your Kowalski's Receipt
Kowalski's Markets has generously included us in their Groceries for Good Causes program. Place your receipt in the Citizens League bin at your local Kowalski's. Kowalski's will make a contribution to the Citizens League each quarter based on the number of receipts in our bins. If you don't see a bin at your local market, please ask the store manager and they will add us as space allows.
Become a Sustaining Member
Sustaining members schedule automatic contributions (until you tell us to stop). Contributions can happen on your schedule: monthly, quarterly, or annually. By becoming a sustaining member, you ensure a consistent cash flow for the Citizens League, save postage and processing time, and ensure that a larger percentage of your donation goes toward accomplishing our mission. You can give any amount as a sustaining member. Set up your donation now, or call us at 651-293-0575.
